Three Nepali players bag medals in the Florida Open Poomsae Championship
London — Three Nepali players bagged three medals in Taekwando Poomsae championship in the Florida Open championship hosted from the USA.
Players from Nepal, Raju Nagarkoti bagged Gold, Sanjeev Nepali secured Silver and Sandip Amgai bagged Bronze in the worldwide Poomsae championship.
The event was held on 1st and 2nd of August virtually through live streaming worldwide from Florida due to the Corona virus pandemic.
Raju Nagarkoti, who secured Gold in the 41 to 50 age group, is a 5th Dan of Taekwando. Raju, who played representing the Tribhuvan Army earlier, has bagged many international medals. Raju ousted Pablo Abluja who was contesting from the home country. ( Click here to See Video )
Similarly , Sanjeev Nepali 4 Dan, secured silver medal in 31 to 40 age group competition. He has a track record of winning various international championships including Silver in WAP open championship, Gold in Las Vegas championship, Gold in the Asian city Championship Hongkong, Bronze in Barcelona Open, Gold in British open Poomsae championship .
Sandipa Amgai, who secured Silver medal in 21 to 30 year age category, holds various national and international records.
Contestants from countries including Australia, Canada, USA, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Denmark and Slovakia took part in the event.
