COVID-19 Nepal : Total infected reaches 16,801 with 82 new cases, 147 Recovered
Kathmandu — The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed 82 new cases of COVID-19 today.
Out of 3,916 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 82 persons were found with the virus infection, said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.
The new cases were detected in Jhapa, Morang, Dhanusa, Sarlahi, Kathmandu, Sindhupalchowk, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Sindhuli, Lalitpur, Solukhumbu, Baglung, Nawalparasi (East), Parbat, Syangja, Tanahun, Gorkha, Lamjung, Gulmi, Palpa, Dailekh, Rukum (West), Surkhet, Kalikot, Bajhang, Dadeldhura, Kailali and Darchula, The Rising Nepal reports.
Of the infected, six are from Kathmandu valley.
Meanwhile, 147 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at various health facilities across the nation have recovered from the virus infection in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate now stands at 51.1 per cent.
Currently, there are 8,174 active cases of COVID-19 and 23,784 are in quarantine.
With this, the national COVID-19 caseload has reached 16,801 including 8,589 cases of recovery and 38 death cases.
