Nepal to invite 50,000 tourists from Bangladesh by 2020, the Visit Nepal tourism Year.
Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka and Nepal Tourism Board, Kathmandu jointly organised an event to kick start Visit Nepal 2020 campaign in Bangladesh at a hotel in the port city.
Expecting two million international tourists, including, Nepal started a campaign to boost their tourism sector.
On average, 23,000 tourists visit Nepal every year from Bangladesh, said Dilli Prasad Acharya, second secretary of Embassy of Nepal, while speaking as the chief guest of a programme on promoting tourism.
Due to the geographical nature and hospitality, Nepal is a favorite tourist spot among international travelers, Acharya added.
Acharya said that after a devastating earthquake in 2015, Nepal’s tourism sector faced huge loss and now the country is taking major initiative to attract visitors.
