Price of Gold and Silver dropped
Kathmandu : Gold was traded at Rs 59,700 per tola in the domestic market on Sunday. Though the price of gold remained unchanged on Monday, it dropped by Rs 200 per tola on Tuesday to settle at Rs 59,500 a tola. While the price of the yellow metal remained constant on Wednesday, it came down by Rs 100 a tola to Rs 59,400 per tola the next day. However, gold price increased by Rs 100 per tola on Friday to close the week’s trading at Rs 59,500 a tola.
Meanwhile, silver price was fixed at Rs 730 per tola in the domestic market on Sunday.
Though the price of silver remained constant on Monday, it came down by five rupees per tola on Tuesday to Rs 725 a tola. Silver price remained constant over the remaining trading days to close at Rs 725 per tola on Friday.
According to Reuters, gold prices slipped on Friday as global stocks firmed and the dollar rose against the yen, but bullion held above a 10-week low touched in the previous session ahead of US jobs data.
Spot gold slipped 0.2 per cent to $1,289.40 per ounce by 1012 GMT, after touching its lowest since January 25 at $1,280.59 on Thursday.
The metal was down about 0.2 per cent so far for the week. US gold futures were unchanged at $1,294 an ounce.
